Just Belief Course Syllabus

S.1  JustBelief Course Overview – Outline course and discuss what will be accomplished and an overview of what material will be covered in the 9^th or 10^th grades in Texas Public High Schools.  Define apologetics and why it is important and useful for establishing a worldview based on truth and evidence.

S.2  Finish Overview with discussion of Truth and Worldviews R.C. Sproul, Greg Koukl, Francis Schaeffer; Review Dr. Norman Geisler and Dr. Frank Turek’s book, “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist.”  Then watch Geisler’s “12 Points that Show Christianity is True” (Youtube)

S.3  The Case for Theism – What are the best arguments for the existence of God?  Creation Ex Nihilo Richard Swinburne, S.C. Meyer, James Tour, John Lennox, et al.; also, the Argument from Nature with Scripture and Philosophy.  The Teleological/Design argument; Leibniz Contingency argument;  the Kalam Cosmological argument. S.4  The Fine Tuning of the Universe Argument (Anthropic Principle); the Moral argument from William Lane Craig at reasonablefaith.org, Paul Copan, Ron Nash and Clay Jones.  The Ontological argument from Anselm of Canterbury; the argument from the Occult as the “Testimony of the Demons” from JustBelief.  The Book, “The Testimony of the Demons” will be forthcoming from JustBelief.org

S.5  The Case for Christian Theism (see Geisler/Turek material; C.S. Lewis, Os Guinness, Josh McDowell, J.P. Moreland, Francis Schaeffer, N.T. Wright, John Feinberg, Doug Groothuis)

S.6  The Case for Christ & The Deity of Jesus Christ. Prophecy and Miracles, and The New Testament.  Lee Strobel material, Peter Stoner’s Science Speaks, W.L. Craig, Habermas, Geisler, Craig Blomberg,  Craig Keener, Mark Strauss and Nabeel Qureshi.

S.7  The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Gary Habermas, W.L. Craig, John W. Montgomery, Josh McDowell, D.James Kennedy, David Limbaugh et al.)

S.8  The Case for Biblical Inerrancy – Geisler, James White, Peter J. Williams, Michael Kruger, Greg Koukl, Frank Turek, Richard Howe, John MacArthur, D.A.Carson, R.C. Sproul and D.James Kennedy

S.9  Jesus rose from the dead publicly and spoke to many eyewitnesses over the course of forty days.  (Other religions are based on private-secret experiences without evidence, or eyewitnesses.)  The deity of Jesus was firmly established in a rapidly growing Christian Church made up mostly of devout Jews and rabid sabbatarians.  This took place within months of His ascension and in the face of brutal persecution and Christian martyrdom.  (Habermas, Richard Bauckham, Larry Hurtado, James D.G. S.10  Review the case for Christianity, and the evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus from Sheol/Hades. Discuss Rules of Logic, esp. the Law of Non-contrdiction, (Turek/Geisler et al.) to lay the foundation for the existence of only one true faith. (Ex. If resurrection true, then Islam is false.)  Discuss Worldview as a framework of ideas and beliefs through which an individual interprets the world. (Ronald Nash, John W. Montgomery, David Noebel, Jeff Myers, J.P. Moreland et al.)   Compare Christianity to other world Religions; esp. Hinduism/Buddhism (McDowell, Martin, Ravi Zacharias, and Doug Groothuis)

S.11  Transition from Worldviews to a critique of Islam, the Qur’an, and the life of Mohammad. (Walter Martin, Ron Rhodes, Robert Spencer, Brigitte Gabriel , James White, Michael Brown, Michael Youssef, William Federer, and Jay Smith)

S.12  Critique of the Jehovah’s Witnesses to include JW’s fraudulent founder Charles Taze Russell and the vile Judge Rutherford.  While special attention should be given to the Trinity and the deity of Christ, the suspect policies and behavior of the Watchtower Society and the bogus New World Bible translation should be addressed. S.13  Mormonism on Trial  Reveal the fantastic, groundless beliefs of the Mormon Church and its fraudulent “seer” founder Joseph Smith.  Expose narcissistic Smith’s lying, polyandry and plagiarism.  (Walter Martin, Dan Vogel,  Phil Roberts, Francis Beckwith, Ed Decker, Dave Hunt, Mike Winger, Rhodes, Sandra Tanner, and the Wilder family)

S.14  Cursory run through some of the more prominent Cults (and their leaders)of the 20^th Century – Church of Scientology – L.Ron Hubbard; The People’s Temple/Jim Jones  as a multicultural-Communist group inspired by Father Divine in NYC, who was inspired by the Theosophical Society out of Hinduism; The Story of the Manson Crime Family; Maharishi Mahesh Yogi brings TM from East to the West with the help of the Beatles; George Harrison turns to Hare Krishna; Rajneeshism – the sex guru with 96 Rolls is scandalized; The Seventh-day Adventists hoodwink Walter Martin using Ellen G. White’s massive plagiarisms; David Koresh’s Branch Davidians “go out in a blaze of glory” in Texas; Marshall Applewhite leads Heaven’s Gate UFO Cult to suicidal appointment with Hale-Bopp Comet; Occultist, Anton LaVey founds the Church of Satan in San Fran in 1966; Witchcraft, Voodoo and Shaminism grow in popularity; Occult Crowleyist Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin headlines the Cult of Rock ‘n Roll; Cursed movies  become an  outgrowth of “Hellywood’s” Satanic influence (complete with channeling!); The Power of Cinema, as George Lucus’ Star Wars reveals the Buddhist nature of “the Force,” helping to usher in the New Age M..

S.15  The New Age Movement emerges in 1875 with the Hinduistic writings of Helena Blavatsky.  Alice Bailey later rejects Christianity and canonizes the Theosophical Society.  COEXIST becomes the pluralistic theme of the future as the NAM accommodates all but the monotheistic Religions of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.  The Movement is Luciferian at its roots and promotes a “Christ consciousness” in order to lead souls away from the Christian Faith. S.16, 17 (Parts 1 and 2)  Assess Godless, Groundless Darwinian Evolution against purposeful Design as “special creation.”  What is the evidence?  What are the best arguments?  Evolution’s history of FRAUD, disinformation and textbook manipulation. (Phillip Johnson, Michael Denton, Michael Behe, William Dembski, David Berlinski, The Huxleys, Charles Darwin, Richard Owen, Casey Luskin, Scott Huse, Douglas Axe, Stephen Jay Gould, Answers in Genesis, Jonathan Wells, Gunter Bechly and  Sir Fred Hoyle)

What is the case for Intelligent Design?  (Stephen Meyer, James Tour, Francis Beckwith, John Lennox, Henry Morris, David Berlinski, John Polkinghorne, Doug Axe)

Critique of Biblical Creation and a young earth.  The Privileged Planet, loads of evidence, and the infallible Word of God (The veracity and authenticity of the Bible must be demonstrated.)

The Story of the Unveiling “Asah” of 70 sextillion (21 zeroes) stars (probably all at once).

S.18  Wrap up the JustBelief Apologetics Syllabus with the story of truth and reality (Greg Koukl, Brett Kunkel, Kennedy, Geisler, Turek, Os Guinness and Richard Howe) J. Budziszewski explains how young people can maintain their Christian Faith in the midst of an aggressive secular educational environment.
The producer of JustBelief.org would encourage everyone to weigh the evidence, assess the arguments, think for yourself, and believe what is most probably true.  John Warwick Montgomery and Craig Parton take an optimal evidentiary approach to Christian apologetics and is highly recommended by JustBelief.
